We’re all waiting for Jermey Pruitt to bring that nasty, Alabama-like defense to Knoxville. It’s one of the main reasons he was hired, but the roster just isn’t in a place to expect results like that just yet.
One of the areas where this roster has been the thinnest at has been the outside linebacker position. Tennessee just hasn’t been able to generate a consistent pass rush since Derek Barnett left for the NFL.
Pruitt missed on a couple of highly ranked pass rushing targets late in last year’s cycle, but he was able to bring in Roman Harrison, along with Quavaris Crouch — who will play a little at each of Tennessee’s four linebacker spots to start.
