Tennessee football lost one of its all-time bests when former Super Bowl champion guard Mickey Marvin died Monday at the age of 61.
Marvin was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, in 2015. Former Tennessee assistant David Cutcliffe, now coach at Duke, offered his condolences on Twitter.
Former Tennessee/Raider great Mickey Marvin passed away today. Very sad. A great loss to all who were fortunate enough to know and love him

Marvin played in Knoxville from 1973-76, under then-coach Bill Battle.
