The Denver Broncos announced Wednesday that they have signed former Volunteer linebacker AJ Johnson to a future contract for the 2019 season.
Johnson had previously signed a 3-year deal with the Broncos on August 13, 2018, that included an undrafted free agent record $35,000 signing bonus to go along with $50,000 in guaranteed money. The former All-American at Tennessee would only see action in one game before being waived by the Broncos on November 29th. He was later re-signed to their practice squad. This latest contract will give Johnson another shot at sticking on the Broncos 53-man active roster in 2019.
