Latrell Scott has lived the coaching grind, climbing from FCS assistant to promising SEC assistant and now head coach at FCS member Norfolk State in his native Virginia.
So when Scott speaks about the virtually limitless future of Montario Hardesty in the coaching profession, he carries authority.
Scott, a one-time Tennessee assistant (2008 season), cannot say enough good things about what the future holds for Hardesty, a former Vols tailback who recently returned to Rocky Top in a quality control position for first-year coach Jeremy Pruitt.
“There’s no shock to me that Montario is going forward in his career,” said Scott, who’s declined interest from multiple FBS powers to be an assistant to remain coach of the Spartans.
