RIO DE JANEIRO -- Tennessee women's basketball legend Tamika Catchings and her USA teammates will begin their quest for gold on Sunday at the 2016 Olympic Games.
The 12-member U.S. Olympic Women's Basketball Team will open Group B play at 11 a.m. ET vs. first-time Olympic opponent Senegal in Deodoro Youth Arena. Games vs. other group teams Canada, China, Serbia and Spain will follow from Aug. 8-14. The quarterfinals are set for Aug. 16, followed by the semis on Aug. 18 and the gold and bronze medal contests on Aug. 20.
USA, 58-3 all-time in the Olympic Games, will be aiming for its sixth-consecutive gold medal and eighth overall.
