For the second time this season, Tennessee suffered a loss to Kentucky. The Volunteers went up to Lexington on Tuesday night a took their fifth loss of the season as the Wildcats pulled away late. Tennessee started slow, roared back to life, but couldn’t finish the job on the road yet again.
Kentucky went on to win 75-64, shooting 12-24 from three point range. Tennessee was just 3-18. It was Tennessee’s fifth conference loss of the season — their fourth loss of the year on the road.
“Way, way, way too many defensive breakdowns on our part,” Rick Barnes said of the loss.
