Four-star athlete C.J. Cotman deccommitted from Tennessee on Tuesday night, and he told GN it was a mutual parting of the ways.

“My coach called me in and basically told me that they had snapped my offer away,” Cotman said. “They wanted somebody with experience, so they wanted to go get some junior college players.”

Cotman (5 feet 11, 180 pounds), from Clearwater (Fla.) Central Catholic, originally committed to Tennessee in July. He is considered a top-20 athlete prospect nationally.

Cotman was asked if he had any ill will toward Tennessee.

“I’m not that type of person to talk bad about a school,” Cotman said.
