It took a few months, but Tennessee has finally picked up a cornerback commitment for their 2019 class. Warren Burrell announced his intention to play for the Vols on Friday, giving Tennessee their 16th commitment of the current cycle. Burrell picked the Vols over Florida and N.C. State.
After head coach Jeremy Pruitt took care of the offensive and defensive lines, the clear and obvious need at cornerback was one of the few things left to address. It was — and probably still is — Tennessee’s No. 1 need after the Vols struck out late in the 2018 cycle with several top defensive backs.
