BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The Southeastern Conference has awarded the 2017 SEC Women's Basketball Tournament to Greenville, S.C., the Bon Secours Wellness Arena and VisitGreenvilleSC, Commissioner Greg Sankey announced today.
Greenville previously hosted the SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament in 2005. Tennessee, ranked No. 5/4 at the time, claimed the hardware that season, defeating Auburn and Vanderbilt before knocking off No. 1/1 LSU in the title game, 67-65 on March 6.
“The SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament is an important event for our Conference and I am pleased we will be returning to Greenville after a 12-year absence,” said Sankey.
