It’s as if Tennessee basketball can’t ever find stability. When a coach isn’t getting fired for failing to win games, he’s getting fired for an NCAA violation or being a PR disaster. But they thought they had stability with Rick Barnes.

That, of course, was before the news broke Sunday night that he was emerging as a serious candidate to become the new UCLA Bruins head coach and the fact that the interest appeared to be mutual. All of a sudden, the Vols could be worried about another search.

Phillip Fulmer already has the impossible task of finding a new head coach to replace the second most legendary Tennessee Lady Vol ever because she did not live up to the expectations of the women’s basketball program.
