It has been been more than two weeks since Derrick Dooley was fired as Tennessee's head football coach and the Vols have yet to find a replacement. While many names have floated around as potential new coaches, one name stands out to us... Al Golden.
Golden coaches for what was once considered the most prestigious college football program in America, but no longer holds that mantra. In his two years at The U, Golden has had limited success despite being bowl ineligible both of those years.

In a recent interview with Golden, he was asked about potentially searching for a new coaching job and completely sidestepped the question: "Your name is mentioned for other jobs. Do you talk to those other schools? Golden: Again, we're just trying to move forward. We have a great group coming back. I hope our fans are excited. Imagine all these kids together. How many yards did we throw for and Rashawn (Scott) wasn't there, (Robert) Lockhart wasn't there, Jontavious (Carter) didn't play yet, Malcolm (Lewis) was hurt. I know we made a lot of mistakes because we're young in a lot of spots. But I'm not going to trade Deon Bush. We're moving forward."
Given that Miami has had quite a few problems with the NCAA in the past two seasons, it may be an upgrade for Golden to go to Knoxville and play on a bigger stage for a school that does not have to worry about being bowl eligible. Also, while Golden has no connection to Tennesse consider him a dark-horse for the Vols coaching position.
