The Tennessee Volunteers are 2-2, with a pair of heartbreaking losses to the Florida Gators and Oklahoma Sooners. The Arkansas Razorbacks are 1-3 and reeling after three straight losses. Here are three reasons why Tennessee will make it four straight losses for Arkansas.
Home Field Advantage
Neyland Stadium is not an easy place to play and that home field advantage will give the Vols a boost. It will make things easier on the Tennessee offense and more difficult on the Razorbacks. The home field advantage will give Tennessee the boost it needs to leave with a win.
Better QB Play
Joshua Dobbs has struggled at times as a passer, but he's been great on the ground. He's completed 58 percent of his passes for 557 yards, 5 TDs and 1 INT. He's amassed 243 yards and 2 TDs on the ground. Quite simply, he's one of the best dual-threat QBs in college football. Arkansas' Brandon Allen appears to have good stats at first glance; 70 percent passing, 1,141 yards, 7 TDs and 3 INTs. However, a close look reveals those are inflated. Take out Arkansas' win over UTEP (a cupcake game), and Allen's numbers drop to 68 percent completion, 833 yards and most importantly, 3 TDs and 3 INTs. Dobbs will out-play Allen and that will be a big reason why the Vols will win.
Arkansas' Terrible Pass Defense
The Vols' don't have the great pass defense in the world, but it's better than Arkansas'. The Razorbacks have given up 264 yards per game through the air, which is dead last in the SEC. Arkansas is in the bottom third in passing defense in the nation. Dobbs hasn't been the greatest passer this season, but he'll have success and guide the Vols to a much-needed win.
