The Tennessee Titans’ decision to sign running back Tony Pollard to a three-year, $21.7 million contract with $10.4 million in guarantees in free agency was initially met with mixed reviews. Pollard was coming off his second consecutive 1,000-yard season with the Dallas Cowboys, but it wasn’t a particularly impressive 2023 campaign. The former Memphis standout averaged a career-low 4.0 yards per carry.
Furthermore, Pollard will be tasked with helping replace franchise legend Derrick Henry in the backfield. The team is going through a shift in offensive philosophy under new head coach Brian Callahan.
