The Tennessee Titans claimed linebacker Nate Palmer off waivers on Monday after the Packers waived him over the weekend. Palmer stepped in as the second-string inside linebacker after Sam Barrington went down with a season ending foot injury.
Palmer found snaps on the field as he played all 16 games, recording 68 tackles, one sack and two pass defended.
Originally a sixth round pick of Green Bay in 2013, Palmer is in the last year of his rookie contract (4-year, 2.21 million dollars) and is set to make a base salary of 675,000 in 2016. Palmer’s contract allows the Titans to make a low risk, one-year investment in Palmer who showed enough promise to worthy a roster spot.
