NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- General manager Jon Robinson signed nose tackle Al Woods to a three-year deal in 2016, but Woods isn’t getting to a second season with the Tennessee Titans.
The Titans are releasing Woods before $1.25 million of his $2.75 million base salary becomes guaranteed next Monday.
That will save them the $2.75 million this year and a 2018 base salary of $3 million, but $1.5 million of his signing bonus remains as a cap hit.
The Titans are in line to start 2016 second-round pick Austin Johnson at nose tackle -- a run-down job in their defense.
