Tennessee Titans release Michael Griffin

In Jon Robinson’s first move as General Manager of the Tennessee Titans, he has decided to release 9-year veteran Michael Griffin.

While many in the organization spoke highly of Griffin, with a big offseason for the Titans approaching, his $8+ million contract was just too much for Tennessee.

Don’t expect this to be it for the veteran safety though, after playing for nine years and through two Pro Bowls, I doubt that he will have trouble finding work even if it is as a third safety. I expect him to end up somewhere like Cincinnati, Kansas City or Oakland where they have free agents hitting the market, but they also have bigger needs elsewhere.
