Tennessee Titans GM Jon Robinson is great at drafting players early who can make an impact and drafting players later who have long term upside. However, he just can’t seem to figure out defensive tackle.
Granted, Robinson seems to think that DT isn’t a huge issue for the Titans or he doesn’t value the position that much. Before this year, he had drafted 23 players and only one of them was a defensive tackle: Austin Johnson in 2016.
I believe the only reason he took Jeffery Simmons this year was purely based on his talent and his pro bowl potential relative to everyone else available at that point in the draft.
