If the Tennessee Titans didn’t have the attention of the media and casual NFL fans alike, they sure do now after pulling off an absolutely staggering upset of the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots, 20-13, in Foxborough, Massachusetts on Saturday night.
Though there were some who probably believed an upset was possible, it’s the Patriots. They had been a dynasty over the course of two decades, and even with all the aging parts and injuries that they had to deal with, surely they could handle a team like the Titans, right?
Well, on the contrary, the Titans came out swinging from the onset, and through the tough running of halfback Derrick Henry, the tenaciousness of the defense, and even using a Bill Belichick trick against him, the Titans found a way to get the victory.
