NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Titans are releasing veteran receiver Justin Hunter and running back Bishop Sankey, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The franchise traded up in the second round in 2013 to draft Hunter out of Tennessee, and spent their 2014 second-round pick on Sankey, the first running back selected in that draft.
Neither player has come close to reaching his potential for the Titans.
Hunter leaves with 68 catches for 1,116 yards and eight touchdowns. But coaches have consistently talked about his inconsistencies and unreliability. Sankey ran 199 times for 762 yards and three touchdowns.
