Coming into the Week 17 game against the Houston Texans, Tennessee Titans wide receiver A.J. Brown was just 73 yards from reaching 1,000 in his rookie season.
Brown’s first two catches of the game came on passes from quarterback Ryan Tannehill and went for a total of 53 yards, and one of those catches was a 51-yard strike that found pay dirt.
However, Brown’s catch that put him over the 1,000-yard mark actually came via a dart from backup quarterback Marcus Mariota that went for 24 yards. The trick play saw Mariota lineup under center, while Tannehill was split wide.
