ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reported on NFL Countdown that the Titans made running back Derrick Henry available at the trade deadline, but did not find a team willing to match their price.
This is obviously interesting news as it comes on the heels of Dion Lewis’ best game of the season and the addition of fullback Jalston Fowler to the roster. Lewis’ emergence in the Patriots backfield in 2017 coincided with a move towards more 21 personnel with fullback James Develin leading the way. Fowler’s addition and this news that the Titans were open to moving Henry certainly seems to suggest a move towards Lewis as the focal point of the backfield moving forward.
