NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- After four games, Tennessee Titans coach Mike Mularkey has decided to make a change to his coaching staff, firing special-teams coach Bobby April and elevating his assistant, Steve Hoffman.
Mularkey regarded April, a veteran special-teams coach, as a big get when he was putting his staff together after the Titans took the interim tag off of him and made him their coach.
But the team lost in Houston Sunday, 27-20, with the deciding points coming on rookie Will Fuller’s 67-yard punt return for a touchdown on which the Titans hardly challenged him.
