Marcus Mariota's giant gaffes sink Titans against Chargers

SAN DIEGO -- Marcus Mariota's good was great. His bad was terrible.

His terrible, combined with a shaky defensive effort, sends the Tennessee Titans back to Nashville at 4-5 after a crushing 43-35 loss to the San Diego Chargers on Sunday.

Poised to go toe to toe with the Chargers in the second half, Mariota carried on an late third-quarter option play and basically dropped the ball. Defensive back Dwight Lowery scooped it, took it 43 yards and put the home team a dozen points ahead. Later, Mariota threw for Kendall Wright up the left side and found defender Brandon Flowers, who brought it back for a 34-yard touchdown.
