Jason McCourty has been sidelined with an groin injury since he second week of camp. Ken Whisenhunt announced at this press conference this afternoon that the CB underwent surgery today on his groin. The surgery went well. There was apparently a "slight tear" (easy for someone else to say) and Whiz wouldn't rule McCourty out of the opener.
The Titans open the season a little bit less than 3 weeks from today. Playing the opener would seem to be a long-shot for McCourty at this point. Whiz said they went ahead and did the surgery so the injury wouldn't bother him all season.
