Gauging where Mike Mularkey stands with regard to the Titans' full-time job

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- When Mike Mularkey took over as the Tennessee Titans' interim coach Nov. 3, controlling owner Amy Adams Strunk told him they’d revisit his status at the end of the year.

The Titans are 2-3 since Mularkey replaced Ken Whisenhunt and have four games left.

Asked if the Titans are a better team now than they were under Whisenhunt, a close coaching friend, Mularkey said “I don’t want to do that.”

He won’t answer the question, but it is obvious the Titans are a lot better.

Are they good enough to get Mularkey hired as the full time coach?
