The offseason signing of free agent Brice McCain was viewed as an immediate upgrade. How could it not, he was replacing Coty Sensabaugh and Blidi Wren-Wilson who failed miserably in 2015. At a major position of need, he was supposed to shut down the slot and stabilize the 2016 pass defense. That is not how it has worked out through week 9.

Yes, that yahoo was me. And no, I am not as excited about the signing now. Although McCain has not allowed as many big plays as Sensabaugh and Wren-Wilson, he hasn’t come close to meeting expectations either.
