3 reasons Tennessee Titans and Cam Newton are a perfect match

With Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton being placed on injured reserve, effectively ending his 2019 season, there’s a good chance he has played his last game for the Panthers.

During his absence, rookie quarterback Kyle Allen has led Carolina to a 5-1 record, and one of those wins was over the Tennessee Titans in Week 9. As a result of Allen’s impressive play this season, it’s quite possible the Panthers move on from Newton after 2019.

If that happens, there are three possibilities for Newton’s future.

  1. The Panthers could release Newton and save more than $19 million, although this would be more of a sentimental move because it doesn’t make much sense to let him walk if the team can get draft capital in exchange.
