The 2015 NFL Draft is under a month away, which means draft trade rumors are about to get extremely loud around the league. The Tennessee Titans are one team that could be in the mix for some draft day hijinx, but what/who exactly would they look to trade for? Here’s 3 Draft Day Trades The Tennessee Titans Could Make.
1. Trade #2 pick to New York Jets for #6 pick, 2nd round pick (#37), 3rd round pick (#70), and 2016 2nd-rounder
If the Titans were to trade out of the #2 spot, this might be the most likely scenario. The Jets are in the market for a young, franchise quarterback (to groom behind Ryan Fitzpatrick), and moving up to #2 guarantees them one of the Jameis Winston/Marcus Mariota duo. In return, the Titans would move down just four spots while picking up two early picks in 2015 and another in 2016 -- a potential win/win if the team is willing to punt on an opportunity at USC's Leonard Williams.
2. Trade #2 pick to Cleveland Browns for #12, #19 picks & a 3rd round pick (#77)
Another quarterback-starved franchise, the Browns are staring down the barrel of a full season with Josh "Replacement Level" McCown under center. The Titans could easily target a fast-rising pass rusher at #12, while using the extra first and third-rounders to solve the quarterback conundrum and maybe find a skill-position standout to pair with him,
3. Trade #2 pick to Philadelphia Eagles for #20 pick, 2nd round pick (#52), 3rd round pick (#77), 5th round pick (#156), and a 2016 first-rounder
Here's the haul of all hauls. Eagles head coach Chip Kelly's penchant for loading up on University of Oregon talent could reach its apex here, with Kelly trading away a good portion of his 2015 draft and a 2016 first-rounder to assure himself of a reunion with Marcus Mariota. The Titans would have to come to grips with dropping to the middle of the first round, but there'd be plenty of extra value picks to show for it.
