ORLANDO, Fla. - In the opening round of the American Athletic Conference Championships, the tenth-seeded Temple women's tennis team fell 4-0 to the No. 7 USF Bulls on Wednesday morning. The Owls season ends with an 11-13 record.
In doubles, the Bearcats picked up the first point as Vera Bessanova and Olga Martinez defeated Alina Abdurakhimova and Yana Khon, 6-4 at the first flight, while Nicole Dzenga and Ana Roman Dominguez posted a 6-2 win at the third flight over Mariana Bedon and Monet Stuckey-Willis. The match between duos Jessica Cortes Chaves and Juliana Cardoso and Dina Karina and Anais Nussaume did not finish in the second flight.
