DALLAS, Texas - A last minute push by the sixth-seeded Temple women's soccer offense wasn't enough to continue the Owls' season as they fell to the third-seed UCF Knights, 2-1 in the last American Athletic Conference Tournament quarterfinal game on Tuesday. Temple finished the season 12-7-1 overall, 4-5-1 in conference play.
The Knights gained an early 1-0 lead over the Owls at the seven-minute mark, when Temple got a head on the ball and sent it in for an own goal.
Later in the 22nd minute, UCF's Carol Rodrigues was able to collect the ball after a series of headers and knocked it over towards teammate Ashley Spivey, who sent it straight back into the net.
