PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Temple played lock-down second-half defense, allowing Rutgers just 11 points in the final 20 minutes, as the Owls' women's basketball team grabbed a 48-37 win over the Scarlet Knights. The victory, which moves Temple to 7-3 overall, was the first for the Owls over Rutgers since the 2010-11 season.
After trailing by as many as 13 points in the first half, Temple turned the tides on Rutgers beginning in the third quarter. The Scarlet Knights shot just 12.5% and Temple forced eight turnovers in the frame, to propel the Owls to the victory.
