PHILADELPHIA — The Temple women's basketball team opened the modified 2020-21 season with a 90-72 loss to visiting Villanova in afternoon action at McGonigle Hall on Friday. The Owls start their campaign at 0-1, while the Wildcats improve to 3-0 on the year.

> In their first game back on the court since last season was cut short, Temple showed its rust, shooting just 41% from the field and connecting for just three from long range.
