PHILADELPHIA - An exciting comeback attempt fell short for Temple volleyball in the final match of the Hilton Penn's Landing Temple Invitational, and the Owls (1-2) ultimately lost a pair of matches to LMU and Hofstra on Saturday. Temple took LMU to four sets and Hofstra to five, crawling out of a two-set hole in the latter.

> Hofstra served up nine aces through two sets in getting wins of 25-16 and 25-18.
> The Owls turned it up defensively in their comeback attempt and came up with wins of 26-24 and 25-19 to even the match at two sets apiece, but the Pride put the fifth and final set out of reach early on.
