WEST WINDSOR, N.J. — The Temple men's crew team raced in a pair of semifinals on day two of the 2016 IRA National Championships on Mercer Lake.
Temple's varsity eight recorded their best time of the weekend, notching a 5:56.60 to place fifth in their semifinal. The Owls finished nearly four seconds ahead of Oklahoma.
The varsity four boat also grabbed a fifth-place finish in their semifinal. Temple crossed the finish line in 6:47.42, out-pacing Drexel in the race.
On Sunday, the Owls will race in four finals. The freshman eight will compete in the grand finals, the lightweight four will race in the petite finals, and the varsity eight and varsity four will also compete in lower-level finals.
