PHILADELPHIA - Junior Safa Ibrahim and freshman Kerry Plunkett will be representing the sixth-ranked Temple fencing team at the NCAA Championships, having both earned at-large bids. The national meet is set for Saturday-Sunday, March 25-26 (women's fencing) and will be held in Indianapolis, Ind.
Ibrahim, an epee fencer, will be making her third straight appearance at the NCAA Championships. She's coming off an eighth-place finish at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regional, and went 45-25 in dual meets this season. Ibrahim placed 16th at the national meet as a freshman and 17th as a sophomore.
Plunkett fences for the sabre squad, and has qualified for the NCAA Championships in her debut season with the Owls.
