SARASOTA, Fla. — A tough day for the Temple women's rowing team saw the Owls end their season in sixth place at the 2017 American Athletic Conference Rowing Championships.
Temple started the day with fourth or fifth place finishes in the first three events, but looked poised for medals in both premiere eight events, the varsity eight and second varsity eight. However, dealing with rough water conditions, both Owl boats caught crabs while in third place with around 500m left to go, pushing them out of the medals.
Temple finished in fourth place in both the varsity four and the third varsity eight races, and fifth in the second varsity eight, the second varsity four, and the third varsity four.
