Temple Mourns Passing of Men’s Basketball Great Marty Stahurski

PHILADELPHIA – Marty Stahurski, a two-time all-Philadelphia Big 5 selection for Temple men's basketball in the mid-70s, passed away Saturday morning. He was 61.

"All of Temple University is saddened by the passing of Marty Stahurski," said Director of Athletics Dr. Patrick Kraft. "He was not only a tremendous basketball player at Temple, but a loving husband and father. Our thoughts and prayers are with is family at this time."

Mr. Stahurski, a two-year captain for the Owls, was a four-year starter for Temple from 1974-75 through 1977-78, ending his career with 1,499 points which was the fourth-highest total at the time of his graduation (17th currently).
