BROOKLYN, N.Y. - After a thrilling ending to regulation gave Temple men's basketball new life in overtime of the NCAA First Round, Iowa (22-20) handed the Owls a heartbreaking loss with a putback at the buzzer. Temple (21-12) got a game-high 26 points from senior Quenton DeCosey in his final appearance for the Owls, with DeCosey hitting 3-of-3 at the free throw line to tie the game with two seconds left in regulation.
Senior Jaylen Bond was also impressive in his last game, notching his 10th double-double of the season with a game-high 15 rebounds to go with 14 points.
