PROVIDENCE, R.I. - For the third time this season, Shizz Alston, Jr., has been named the American Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week. Alston, the league's second-leading scorer, led the Owls (19-7) to a pair of wins last week.
Alston averaged 26.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 5.5 assists in Temple's 2-0 week. He led the Owls to a home victory over SMU and an overtime win at USF. Against the Mustangs the senior scored 13 straight Temple points, 15 of 18, and assisted on the lone basket not scored by him, in a stretch run to keep SMU at bay.
