PHILADELPHIA - Rod Carey, who served six years as the head coach at Northern Illinois University, has been named Temple University's head football coach. He will be officially introduced at 4 p.m. today at a media conference in the University's Fox Gittis Room.
Carey, who was named NIU's head coach in December 2012, has coached the Huskies in six bowl games, including leading the Mid-American Conference power against Florida State in the 2013 Discover Orange Bowl. He has compiled a 52-30 won-loss record at NIU with an impressive 38-10 record in conference play.
