PHILADELPHIA – Temple Football head coach Matt Rhule was the recipient of the Auxiliary Service Award during the 63rd annual Acres of Diamonds Gala. Temple University Hospital Auxiliary hosted the event at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel on Saturday evening.
The Auxiliary Service Award was given to Rhule "for demonstrating tireless dedication and service to those in need." Since taking over as head coach of the Owls in 2013, Rhule has been committed to many national philanthropic initiatives such as the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, Habitat for Humanity, Walk a Mile in Her Shoes, Huddle Up for Autism, Special Olympics, and Be the Match.
