COLUMBUS, Ohio - Freshman Kerry Plunkett's third-place finish in junior women's sabre highlighted four days of competition for Temple fencing at the January North American Cup (NAC) held Jan. 6-9 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center.
Plunkett tied for third among 143 competitors in the event, and was also the Owls' top finisher in Division I women's sabre, placing 39th.
"We had a short break for the holidays and the team came back hungry," said assistant coach/sabre coach Josh Herring. "Kerry had a comeback victory in her round of 32 (in junior women's sabre) and then had impressive victories in the next two rounds.
