One of the big stories of the week in the NFL was the return of Cam Newton to both the NFL and the Carolina Panthers. The former #1 pick and NFL MVP who was released by the Panthers a year ago, was resigned by Carolina after an injury to Sam Darnold. Newton's return overshadowed two former Owls, but their stories were nevertheless, sensational.
Despite Newton's return, it was our P.J. Walker (2013-16) who started at quarterback and led the Panthers to a 34-10 win at Arizona, who owned the NFL's best record. Walker was 22-29 for 167 passing and 3-6 rushing.
