PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Temple middle hitter Kirsten Overton was named the American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for her play September 20-27, marking the first player of the week honor for the Owls this season. In addition to Overton's award, senior Alyssa Drachslin nabbed a spot on the American Weekly Honor Roll.
Overton, who was named to the honor roll last week, led Temple to a 2-0 start in American Athletic Conference play for the first time in program history. The junior hit a remarkable .594, averaging 3.67 kills per set to help the Owls' to a pair of sweeps.
