PHILADELPHIA - The No. 5 Temple fencing team will look to defend its NIWFA title Saturday, heading to Drew University for its first post-season event of the year. The Owls have won the title for the past 24 years, taking the epee and foil team titles last year.
Temple went 31-9 in dual competition this season, with wins over No. 1 Notre Dame, No. 6 Penn State, and No. 8 Penn. The team's fifth-place ranking is the highest in program history, topping its previous high of sixth from 2017.
The Owls went 4-1 at the Temple Invite to close out regular season play, with Kerry Plunkett's 10-3 record leading the team.
