Charlottesville, Va. - The shorthanded Temple men's tennis team (1-1) dropped a hard fought match to No.12 Virginia 4-3 in Charlottesville, Va. on Sunday.
Playing without injured starter Uladzimir Dorash, the Owls fell just short as Virginia freshman Kyrolo Tsygura rallied to beat Owls freshman Mark Wallner 6-1, 3-6, 6-1 in the decisive match on court five to secure the win for the Cavaliers.
"It was a great match against the defending national champions, I'm proud of the way we competed," said Temple head coach Steve Mauro."Unfortunately we fell a little short against a great team playing without one of our starters (Dorash).
