PHILADELPHIA - The Temple men's tennis team registered back-to-back 7-0 wins over Philadelphia and Coppin State on Tuesday. The Owls move to 16-5 on the season.
Against Philadelphia in the morning, the Owls swept the doubles point. Hicham Belkssir and Vineet Naran picked up a 7-5 victory at the first flight, while Florian Mayer and Uladzimir Dorash clinched the point with a 6-3 win at the second flight.
In singles, Temple came out strong and recorded six straight-set victories to pick up the win against Philadelphia. Santiago Canete was the only Owl to take his flight into three sets, but ultimately picked up the win, 2-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-7) at the first flight.
