WEST WINDSOR, N.J. — The Temple men's crew team opened racing at the 2016 IRA National Championships on Friday on Mercer Lake. The Owls competed in three events, the varsity eight, the varsity four, and the lightweight four.
Temple's varsity eight opened the morning with a time of 6:26.43 to finish sixth in their heat. The Owls then improved nearly 13 seconds in the repechage, finishing in fourth in a time of 6:13.44. The crew will be in lane one in the fourth semifinal on Saturday.
In varsity four racing, the Owls opened the day with a fifth place finish in the heats, recording a time of 6:56.
