BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- The Temple men's crew team opened the fall racing season with four victories at the King's Head Regatta.
Temple finished 1-2 in the men's club eight. The Owls' "A" boat (Leeds, Wittenstein, Moyer, Chukinas, Zawycky, Kipp, Williams, Ching, Funchion) won the event in a time of 15:34.78. The "B" boat (Shaughnessy, Wren, Thull, Adams, Sicko, Boettger, Brown, Juers, Dumeer) took second in 16:12.53. Both crews topped the US Merchant Marine Academy's third-place effort of 18:41.09.
The Owls' recorded nearly a one-minute victory in the men's club four race. Temple's "A" boat (Mason, Grochowski, Theuret, Baldo, Vecchione) finished in 17:01.
