Men's Basketball Beats Memphis 77-66 Behind Alston, Jr.'s 22 Points

PHILADELPHIA - Scoring over 20 points for a third game in a row, sophomore Shizz Alston, Jr. led Temple men's basketball to a 77-66 win over visiting Memphis (15-6, 5-3). Alston hit 4-of-8 from long range, making it 14 three-pointers in three contests as he finished with 22 points for the Owls (11-10, 2-6).

Temple's lead was no fewer than six points for the final 18 minutes, and they led by double digits much of the way. The Tigers narrowed a 14-point lead to seven on three occasions in the final four minutes, but the Owls held them off, largely thanks to senior Mark Williams.
